Earlier in the 19th century there was a lot of criticism that the Bible just couldn't be true since it was the only source that mentioned the Hittites. Critics said the Bible therefore was fictional and mythical and simply made up stories. However, recently Hittite monuments, along with 10,000 clay tablets from the Hittites capital city, were discovered by archeologists.
