The third kind is intellectual tolerance, which is the acceptance of every idea as being equally valid and actually a refusal to point out error---to distinguish between truth and falsehood, right and wrong---the idea that everyone can create their own truth.

To give an example of this, some people say the Holocaust never happened. So, a person should have a legal right to state that view, legal tolerance, and that we ought to treat the holder of that view with respect as a person, social tolerance. But, it would be very dangerous to be intellectually tolerant of that wrong idea. We can attack an idea while still showing respect for the person.
