Look at it this way. None of us measure up to
the standard we have access to, which is the Bible. The Jew doesn't
measure up to the standard he has access to, the Torah. The pygmy
doesn't measure up to the unwritten standard that he has either.
The point the Bible makes isn't that they're okay, but that God
is fair when he judges us all. None of us measures to what
we know is right and good. The old line, I'm OK, you're OK turns
out to be wrong. I'm not okay and you're not okay---and neither
is the pygmy in Africa.
