Isn't the word 'sin'
a bit strong?
The Bible says God is loving, but he's also just and holy---but
it also says that we are all sinners and that we are separated from
God.
The Bible defines sin as "falling short
of the glory of God." In other words, a failing to live up
to our potential as a being created in his image or likeness. It
means failing to love unconditionally like God loves, failing to
be fair or kind or compassionate or forgiving, or even a failure
to be pure in our thoughts. If that's what sin is, since we all
fail regularly to hit that target, then that means we are all sinners.
Even if we're all sinners, why does that have to separate us from
God---he is supposed to love everyone.
