Just noticing the facts isn't enough. That brings us to the second word, "assent," which means coming to the point where you think those facts are true. Assent means sorting through the evidence until it makes sense in your own mind. Both notice and assent require the use of our intellect, our brains. Biblical faith like we've discussed before is not a leap into the dark---we are to use our minds. |
