But if you've noticed the facts that have been just described, and come to the conclusion in your own mind that it's actually true, then isn't faith basically automatic? No, it's not quite the same thing. There are plenty of people who believe the basic facts just discussed, but have never made a decision to trust in Jesus Christ for the total forgiveness of their sins. That is the final and essential part of what "real faith" is all about. Making a decision to transfer the trust rather than trusting in oneself and ones performance---it's a matter of placing your trust in Him and in His payment.. |
