Most of us probably think it is selfish to ask for something for ourselves---like what right do I have taking up God's time to ask for something for me. So consider being a parent. Most of us with children want them to come to us with anything and everything. Even though we don't always give them everything they ask for, we do want to talk it over with them, and for them to include us in their lives. This turns out to be a pretty close similarity to how the Bible describes God's feelings for His children---you! It even says in one place that there are some blessings we don't have simply because we don't ask for them. He wants to hear more from us---not less. |
