Fortunately, Jesus actually paid the penalty for us that we should have had to pay. How could one man pay the penalty for billions of people, all mankind? One man couldn't, but the God man, Jesus, could. The Bible tells us that Jesus, as God, actually created our world and all of us. So, what we have here is the creator coming to planet earth some 2000 years ago sacrificing his life, giving his life in exchange for us creatures that he loves. He made up the rules that we've all broken, then, because he loves us, he humbled himself and came here to suffer the ultimate punishment in our place. God himself could, and did, pay the penalty. |
