Jesus said, "This is the work of God---that you believe in the One whom He has sent." Jesus couldn't have made it plainer. If He wanted those He was speaking to at the time to perform good deeds to qualify for Heaven, this would have been the perfect time for Him to say so. But instead, He made it clear that the response He wanted from them, and us now, is simply faith in him---belief---period. |
