Considering other ancient documents, let's look
at Caesar's "Gaelic Wars." The original he wrote in about
60 BC, but the earliest copy we have dates at about 900 AD---a gap
of nearly 1,000 years. In addition to this, we only have 10 copies
of his work---yet nobody questions the accuracy of the copies we
have. By contrast, as mentioned before, we have over 5,000
copies of the Greek manuscript of the New Testament, some of them
dating as early as 130 AD---which is a gap of only 40 to 60 years
compared to nearly 1,000 years in the case of Caesar.
