It was written over a period of 1,500 years, in three different languages, by 40 different authors, on a host of different subjects. The authors were as different as kings, tent makers, shepherds, prophets, military men, government officials, fishermen, and even a physician. They covered subjects like heaven and hell, death, disease, suffering, the problem of evil, marriage, family, civil law, moral law, history, science, sin, salvation, the beginning of the world, and even the end of the world. They not only handled the subjects accurately, but they turned out literary masterpieces. Most important and most surprisingly of all, they harmonized beautifully. |
