God's promises don't remove the suffering
We obviously still have plenty of suffering to go around in this life, but knowing what we have to look forward to, does inject a huge dose of hope and courage to face the things that come our way.

Imagine that you are in a POW camp. On your first night in prison, an angel comes to you or you heard a voice that somehow you knew was God, and you were given a message. Although you're going to have to be there for three more years, you would be released, you'd have no permanent injuries and that your family would be waiting for you with open arms. Would that make a difference in the handling of those three years in prison?
