Why couldn't God
have prevented all this?
There are some things that God can't do. God can't lie. He can't
be hateful. The whole idea of omnipotence, the omnipotence of God,
means that God can do anything consistent with who he is. But, it
doesn't mean that he can do anything. The omnipotence of God simply
means that he's not limited by anything or anyone outside of himself,
but he has to be consistent with who he is.
